Grade 2 Toughest Topics
Make Grade 2 math solid, one tough topic at a time.
Sixteen live Saturday and Sunday classes on Zoom, 60 minutes each, that go through the hardest concepts of Grade 2 math: hundreds, tens and ones, subtracting by trading, missing numbers, equal groups, fractions. Two progress tests show you exactly where your child stands.
- The hardest concepts of Grade 2, taught until they are solid
- A starter quiz, a midpoint test and a final test, each with a report to you
- Practice and games on Tutorizer between classes

Parents: what to expect
Who is this for, and when should my child take it?+
Children in Grade 2 who want the hardest concepts of the grade solid, whether math feels tough right now or they just want to be sure of the foundations before Grade 3. 16 classes over 8 weekends, starting Saturday, January 9, 2027.
What happens in a session?+
Sixty minutes, live on Zoom: a warm-up, new teaching with worked examples, guided practice on a Zoom whiteboard, 15 minutes of games that review what the class just learned, and a last question in the chat. Classes 8 and 16 are review days: a review of the classes so far, then a 20-minute test 20 minutes into the class, then going over it together.
How will I know it is working?+
Your child takes a starter quiz before the first session, a midpoint test in session 8, and a final test in session 16. After each test you receive a summary by email: what went well, what needs help, and the questions that were missed with the right answers. The starter, midpoint and final results also sit together on your program page, so you can see the progress.
What does my child need?+
A computer or tablet with a camera and internet, the free Zoom app, a Tutorizer student account (your child signs in to take the quizzes and games), and paper and a pencil.
How much should we do at home?+
About 10 to 15 minutes between weekends: the practice quizzes or games for that weekend's topics on Tutorizer, and one question explained out loud to you. Short and regular beats long and rare.
What if my child misses a session?+
Let us know. Every session has practice on Tutorizer so your child can catch up, and we go over the questions most people missed in the next class.
How does payment work?+
The program is $640 in all, paid in two monthly payments of $320 by card: the first when you sign up, the next one month later. After the last payment nothing more is charged and there is nothing to cancel.
How big are the groups?+
Small, three to four children, so every child gets real attention and a chance to ask questions. Each group is one grade only: your child is never in a mixed-grade class.
Does it match what my child learns at school?+
Yes. The sessions follow the Ontario Grade 2 math curriculum, focusing on the topics students find hardest and that the next course depends on.
Will this raise my child's marks?+
We cannot promise a score, and we do not think anyone honestly can. What we do promise: your child will have worked through every strand that matters, practiced the hardest topics until they are solid, and you will see exactly where they stand before the day.
Who teaches the class?+
Classes are taught live by Tutorizer's founder, Mr. Hafiz.
What if it does not suit us?+
Email us and we will talk it through.
