Our tutors

Every session is led by a tutor you can look up.

Here's who teaches at Tutorizer and what a session is like.

What to expect

They check the arcade first

Before each session, the tutor looks at how your child did in the games. That shows which topics need the most time.

No rushing

Kids stop trying when they feel rushed or embarrassed. Our tutors slow down, let kids work things out themselves, and point out progress when it happens.

Small groups

Sessions have 3 to 4 students, so the tutor can pay attention to each one.

Meet the tutor

Mr. Hafiz

Founder and tutor · Math, Grades K-8

Most kids who say they hate math don't actually hate math. They hate being stuck, and being the one who doesn't get it while everyone else does. I started Tutorizer because I wanted kids to have a place where getting something wrong is normal and nobody is watching.

I teach sessions myself, and what I'm hoping for is simple. A kid who used to dread math walks away thinking, “I can actually do this.”

We'll be hiring tutors soon

We're growing and will be looking for more tutors. If you're patient, good at explaining math and enjoy working with kids, we'd like to hear from you once applications open. High school students will be welcome to apply, and the work is paid.

Staying in touch

  • Tutor accounts are invitation-only. Nobody can sign up as a tutor on their own.
  • You can message your child's tutor inside Tutorizer.
  • You get a progress report every week.

A typical session

Sessions are online and last about an hour. Toughest Topics and Go Further classes have 3 to 4 kids; homework help is one-on-one. The tutor starts with the topics your child had trouble with in the arcade and works through them together. Afterwards you get a progress report.
